Lashley Added To New EA Sports MMA Game

EA Sports on Thursday unveiled five more fighters for the roster of its upcoming EA Sports MMA video game. The game is shaping up to have a strong Strikeforce flavor to it, which isn't surprising, as EA has signed the promotion as a “premier league” in the game.

Thursday's announcement included Nick Diaz, Marius Zaromskis, Joe Riggs, Melvin Manhoef, and Bobby Lashley. All are currently under contract with Strikeforce and all are fighting at Strikeforce: Miami on Saturday night.

Lashley will now be featured in two video games. In addition to EA Sports MMA, he is a character in the WWE “Smackdown” video game from his stint with the promotion as a professional wrestler.

"It's cool that I can play as myself in two different kinds of video games now," Lashley told ESPN.com on Thursday. "I can either wrestle as myself or fight with myself. I just hope that EA Sports rates me like a 95 or a 96 overall. I hate to lose."

The cornerstone fighters of the game are No. 1 ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko and former UFC champion Randy Couture.

Other fighters on the roster include Hidehiko Yoshida, Shinya Aoki, Frank Shamrock, Jay Hieron, Gegard Mousasi, Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Nick Thompson, Brett Rogers, Jake Shields, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, Jason Miller, Cung Lee, Gilbert Melendez, Robbie Lawler, Ronaldo Souza, Matt Lindland, Scott Smith, Josh Thomson, and Nick Thompson.
